Wile, could you add a "Undo" button? Or maybe it's already there and I did not see it as usual...  Cheesy

Wile64's Map Editor is now a powerful and easy-to-use tool  Cool

http://wile64.neuf.fr/netpanzer/npmapedit.html

I've tried both Linux and Windows versions and they both work well (only in Vista I had a little problem: when I saved the map the .npm file was not saved correctly - .npm extension was missing but I simply renamed it and it worked )

Only thing you have to do in the beginning is going to config -> options and set the correct wads and maps folders.
(for Linux users: you could need root privileges to write in those folders - so launch program with sudo)

I also find copy and paste tool very useful in retouching those imperfections or glitches that may appear using only tiles...

I encourage you to try and use this software, it's very funny to draw maps !

nice tool, thank you...but i like the list with tiles on one view better in flexplay then select every single tile now

zoom in/out would be better with mouse wheel +/- and move on the map with arrow keys.

also can you tell me how to edit or add a new tile to the "summer12mb.tls" tileset? or make a tool for it?

it takes too much space on the window (for small view map), I see later...

for arrow keys, I say yes  Wink

hmmm,    I speak of this with fu, I say what I think...

Make or add is not a problem, but the tool should not be available for everyone, it would be better to create a working group for this and make a new tiles package.
in a first time all the world can create images for the tiles,
- respect the right size (1 tile = 32x32 pixels)
- respect the size of the game (do not watch)
- use the palette netpanzer or create a new (see krom)?

Why not available for everyone? In fact in SVN there is a converter to BMP (and from BMP i suppose, never used it).

The tiles must be 32x32, the game uses the fixed number in many places.

Is better to add a new full tileset than to add more tiles to the old one, imho. New maps should use only the new tileset (I think in map can only use 1 tileset).

The palette, yes, must be the same as netpanzer uses: netp.act if you know how to read it. The stupid colors problems is everywhere.

Also, for wile64, I haven't tested the new maps, but the last time looks like there was not minimap image embedded in the map.

No problem to share, but would be better to work together to create a new package of tiles, rather than each working alone.
It is my opinion .
