Recently some guys - namely (CA)Koby and SKAcz - have started testing alternative tanks profiles (netpanzer/units/profiles) in gameservers.
This stuff has been probably underrated in the past since most of the
FUN comes from here.
Though it's believed that changes occur only in server, I realized that some of these settings have to be the SAME in BOTH client and server to work correctly - expecially the 'speed' entries. That's why I decided to open this thread to allow players to post, share and download alternative "profiles" folders.
Since offering these files for download may end up in a great confusion for unexperienced users, and with the aim to provide players with the SAME files used in the gameservers they're playing (I clearly remember the mess with flag packages), I recommend to adopt a new TAG (numeric) to identify a given 'tanks profiles' folder.
They could be named (p01), (p02), (p03) etc and advertised in gameserver like this e.g E.U.R.O.P.A (p02) so everybody will know what's running... and use the same 'tanks profiles' in his client.
And since netpanzer 0.8.3 does not install in your system but it's just a folder, it would be no problem to duplicate it and having several netpanzer folders with a different 'units/profiles' in each one.
If you post your alternative folders in this thread, I then promise to put them in website download section.
I provide now in attachment (to SKAcz, when posting check 'Additional options') the first two:
p01 by Koby
p02 by SKAcz (taken from
http://strateg.ic.cz/Netpanzer/index.html - sound names corrected)
You guys feel free to update these files or post new ones.
The reason of all this? To select the best alternative tanks profiles and include them in a future release as 'presets' to choose from when starting a gameserver.
